Energy Vampires Turn Green

Enjoy learning about the energy vampires you have in your home on Monday, Oct. 28, 4 to 8 p.m. in the Paulding campus courtyard.  Sponsored by Green Highlands, the theme of the afternoon and evening focuses on the energy vampires (appliances, leaky windows and more) consumers have in their homes that suck needless energy from the grid – and money out of consumer pockets.  Popular local band Cosmoscope will entertain participants, and DJ MayRoar (also known as Matt McClain) will emcee the festivities.

Phi Theta Kappa, GHC’s dignified honor society, will oversee a rather undignified pie-throwing contest.  The Gaming Club will offer its specialized skills in face-painting, and there will also be dancing, a costume competition and the antics of the actors from the Folklore Haunted House.

Dave Martinez of Brother2Brother will capture all the festivities on film.  And don’t forget the food. You wouldn’t want to drain your own energy levels needlessly.  Plenty of candy will assure that you keep your spirits up, and if you’re in need of more serious sustenance you can purchase a Chick-Fil-A dinner for just $5, featuring a chicken sandwich, chips and a drink.

So be there for music, mayhem and madness.  And don’t forget to dress the part.

Meanwhile, listen to Cosmoscope here and DJ MayRoar here.
