Fall Season Play for Lady Chargers Softball Team Has Begun

Bartow County’s only chance to see the Lady Chargers in action at Stars Field this fall, before the official season of conference play begins in the spring, will also double as the open house for the team. The community is invited to watch the women compete in an intrasquad doubleheader on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m., then hang around afterward for a raffle and a tour of the facilities. Faculty, staff, students and fans under the age of 18 will be admitted free. 

The ladies began their fall play with exhibition games with the Georgia State Lady Panthers at Pantherville. Georgia State is a Division I team that finished the 2013 campaign with a 36-19 overall record and a 13-8 mark in conference play. However, the Lady Panthers were ineligible for the Colonial Athletic Association tournament due to their transition to the Sun Belt Conference.  Following that game they played another NJCAA
