Are you STEM ready?

For incoming students interested in STEM pathways at GHC such as:

 

  • Agriculture

 

  • Geology

  • Biology

 

  • Mathematics

  • Chemistry

 

  • Physics

  • Computer Science

 

  • Engineering*

 

MATH 1111 (College Algebra) should be completed before their freshman Fall semester to allow students to take MATH 1113 (Precalculus).

*Incoming students interested in the Engineering Pathway will need to start with MATH 2261 (Calculus I) for their freshman Fall semester course. MATH 1111 and MATH need to be completed.

 

Ways to complete MATH 1111 (College Algebra) and MATH 1113 (Precalculus) before entering GHC:

  • Take MATH 1111 and/or MATH 1113 as a Move On When Ready course

  • Exemption from MATH 1111 with an SAT score of 620 (before March 2016), SAT score of 640 (after March 2016), or ACT score of 25. Students can go straight into MATH 1113 or take the 1113 exemption exam.

  • Exemption from MATH 1111 and/or MATH 1113 by exam at GHC**
