Marietta - Chargers in Residence
Georgia Highlands Marietta campus has brought unprecedented education opportunities to Cobb County as well as many other unique elements. One of the things that makes this particular site such a gem is the ability to live on-campus while participating in the Chargers in Residence Program. In partnership with KSU, Georgia Highlands College students are allowed to reside in campus housing on a space available basis. Our ideal candidate for this program is someone who is interested in receiving the large university experience, while reaping the benefits of a smaller college. Getting involved academically and socially are some of the most rewarding aspects of the Chargers in Residence Program. This program was branded in 2011 and since the onset there has been one major expectation. We expect our residents to excel academically by building relationships with their fellow students as well as the staff and faculty. You must have at least a GPA of 2.0 to enter into the CIR program but you must also maintain this GPA throughout your participation. National studies have shown that students who live on campus will perform better academically than those living off-campus and commuting. Conducive with this research, we expect our residents to excel academically by building relationships with their fellow students as well as the staff and faculty. In addition to higher GPAs and academic commitment, students are encouraged to become more involved on campus by participating in student clubs and organization. Our registered student organization provides a diverse array of clubs ranging from leadership, religious, honor societies, government as well as special interest. Many of our students go on to assume leadership roles in both our organizations as well as at SPSU.
