Employees Teaching Policy

In conjunction with Board of Regents policy (803.1404), an employee with proper credentials, as stated by SACS requirements, may be allowed to teach credit course offerings with compensation as a part-time faculty member.  This stipulation is only for the specific needs of the institution with approvals from the supervisor, area Vice President, Vice President of Academic Affairs and President.   Instruction may be allowed only after regular work hours, on weekends and limited to one outside class assignment per year.

Any exception to this guideline must first proceed with written notification to Human Resources, and then receive approval from the Vice President of Academic Affairs and final approval from the President.    This policy will become effective January 1, 2006

Approved by President’s Cabinet 9/26/05
