IT Recognized as Top Department
Lunch Honors IT Department
Georgia Highlands College recognized its Information Technology department Thursday, Dec. 13 with the first annual Department of the Year award at a luncheon on the Floyd campus. IT received the most nominations and votes from the college community.
Speakers at the luncheon cited the department’s superb customer service and response times, its members’ consistent good manners and patience, and its high quality of work. Jeff Patty, chief information officer, started the department as the sole employee in 1990. Today, the IT department includes 29 skilled specialists who work at all five campuses of the college.
