Courses Available Online

eLearning Options --what you need to know!

Web-based Courses:  These classes are completely online and utilize D2L and/or Blackboard Collaborate (video-conferencing software).   Courses are asynchronous, which means there is no live meeting time but weekly assignments and class participation are required.

eClassroom:  These courses meet online at a live time on its scheduled days; students must use Blackboard Collaborate, which is a free application and can be accessed via a computer, tablet, or phone.  A high speed internet connection is required.

eCore:  Online courses that are offered as a partnership program with the University System of Georgia (USG) and utilize GoView (similar to D2L).  In order to register for eCore classes, you must first complete the Introduction Quiz.  eCore classes have built-in tutoring and library services.  Please note that the eCore academic calendar may differ slightly.  Please visit eCore for more information about pricing and free, open-source textbooks.  Please click HERE for eCore class offerings!

Hybrid:  Courses that are a mix of face-to-face class meetings (on campus) and online work and discussions.

SPECIAL NOTES for all eLearning Classes:

  • High-speed Internet is preferred for all online coursework
  • Excellent computer skills are required in addition to frequent email check-ins
  • Some courses require special equipment (webcam, microphone, etc); please see specific course for details; eLearning does offer some equipment (headphones, earbuds, etc) for loan and are available from the library
  • Blackboard Collaborate is free software that can be downloaded as an app
