Wonders of Mathematics

Course Description: The world of Mathematics is much broader and fascinating than many people have the opportunity to explore. In this non-calculation intensive course, students will explore several of the wonders of the mathematical world through reading, research, inquiry, discussion, and projects. Topics of exploration may include, but are not limited to, Topology, Fractal Geometry, Chaos Theory, other dimensions, and geometries.

The course is delivered with 1 weekly meeting via eClassroom such as Collaborate AND additional material delivered via D2L. This course lasts the entire semester. There is no textbook, but required readings which will be on reserve at the Library. Students do have the option to purchase the books if they do not want to go to the Library to read these books. Students’ access to the D2L page will begin on Saturday, August 19, 2017. For other questions or information, please contact Chris Hart at chart@highlands.edu
