RN to BSN Program

RN-BSN Online Completion Program


The RN-BSN program at Georgia Highlands College provides registered nurses with an opportunity to advance one’s career by earning a bachelor's degree in nursing. The program is offered online asynchronous so students are able to continue working while going to school. The program can be completed in as little as three consecutive semesters full-time or four semesters part-time. Applications will be processed only for semesters immediately following application due dates.


Application Requirements

May select either full-time or part-time

Summer or Fall semester:  Applications due by March 31

Fall semester: Applications due by June 31st


All applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for admission to the program:

A current valid RN license to practice nursing in the U.S. with no current disciplinary actions. If practicing as an RN for four years or more, must submit a completed Verification of Employment form.

Graduated from an accredited nursing program: National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Note: a grade of “C" or better is required in BIOL 2121K, 2122K, and 2161K; ENGL 1101 and 1102; MATH 1001 or 1111; and MATH 2200.

An applicant may be provisionally accepted to the RNBSN program if lacking three or less pre-requisites or core courses.  If accepted provisionally, applicant must successfully complete the remaining core courses/pre-requisites before enrolling in RNBSN major courses (within one consecutive semester following granted provisionally status) to be considered for regular admission status and enrolled in RNBSN courses. If applicant is not successful in completing pre-requisites or core courses within the defined timeframe, applicant will be required to re-apply to the program at a later date.  Applicant must continue to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in order to transition from provisionally status to regular admission status to the RNBSN program.

Provide a copy of your high-school transcript and official transcript(s) from any college(s) previously attended.


RN-BSN program fee

Submit a $30 non-refundable nursing application fee made out to Georgia Highlands College/BSN.

Other requirements

Applicants meeting the above mentioned admission criteria will also be required to submit additional documentation consisting of but not limited to health forms.  A background check and drug screen are also required.
