Each student taking this course needs access to a TI-84 or equivalent graphing/scientific calculator. Students will use their calculator while participating in class, taking exams, and completing homework exercises. Please note that sharing calculators during graded assignments is not permitted.

Students are responsible for __purchasing__ their own Scantrons. A Scantron will not be hand-graded if it fails to pass through the machine.

Four 100-point hour exams will be given during the semester. A comprehensive 100-point final will be given during the scheduled exam period. Please be present for all exams. Online homework is
**required using MyMathLab**. The homework score counts as one test grade.

Under extreme circumstances, make-up tests will be given if the professor is provided with a doctor's or hospital's excuse or a family member's obituary
** within one week** of the date of the test. A make-up test will

- Tuesday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m.
- Thursday, April 28 at 1:00 p.m.

Absence from class on a test date will be counted as an absence even if the test is made up. Only one make-up test per semester is allowed.

The course grade will be determined as a percentage of the total possible number of points.

F < 60 __<__ D < 70 __<__ C < 80 __<__ B < 90 __<__ A

A grade of W (Withdrawal Passing) cannot be awarded after Midterm, March 4, without the approval of the Academic Vice President. A grade of W after midterm requires a "documentable hardship," which cannot be the avoidance of a bad
grade. Anyone who simply abandons the course will receive a grade of F. There is
**no extra credit**, so please do not ask.

Class attendance is strongly encouraged. If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to check with me or a classmate to see what you missed. Anyone absent three (3) times or less will be allowed to drop the lowest of their four hour exam grades. The final
exam may __not__ be dropped. The homework grade may __not__ be dropped.
